Six Ways Online Retailers Can Better Optimize Listings For Amazon

As many of you know, Amazon is arguably the most popular e-commerce
site in the world. Thus, it provides the perfect platform for retailers
to place their products in front of tens of millions users.

However, like all good things, Amazon has its drawbacks.

For instance, Amazon’s high user level means an even higher level of
competition amongst its sellers. Simply uploading your inventory onto
Amazon’s catalog will not give you the results you are looking for.

Instead, your products will never get seen and you will not achieve
an increase in sales. For the best results, you must learn how to fully
optimize your product listings for Amazon.com.

Here are some of the optimization practices that I have found to be most beneficial to improving performance on Amazon.

Get Reviews
Create Parent/Child Relationships
Choose Strong, Relevant Keywords
Include Rich Product Descriptions
Be Prepared For Competitive Pricing

Are You Meeting the User Experience Hierarchy of Needs?

by anthony
The hierarchy of needs is a theory in psychology proposed by Abraham Maslow
describing the stages of growth in humans. But just like in humans,
interfaces go through different stages of growth too. These stages of
growth for interfaces are the user experience hierarchy of needs.
The most basic needs start at the bottom of the pyramid and end with
the highest needs at the top. If the basic needs aren’t met, it’s
difficult to find the desire and motivation to meet the higher
needs. The basic needs in the UX pyramid are functionality and
information. The higher needs are aesthetics and usability.

When it comes to local search optimization and, in particular, the
Google Maps algorithm, you’re likely to get 10 different answers if you
ask 10 local SEOs, What are the most important local search ranking factors? The answer to that question, like just about every other SEO question, is, It depends. It depends on your location, the industry you’re in, the keywords you’re targeting, and many other things. Local SEO is harder than many SEOs think.

Based on my experiences with local clients, here’s my best educated guess about what matters the most today for ranking in Google Maps.
1. Your address.

6. Business data consistency.

Google Maps To Charge Some Businesses For Using Service

Starting in January, Google will begin charging businesses for using the Google Maps link on their websites.

According to Apple Insider,
the company says the charge will only affect .35% of users as websites
won’t be charged until they get 25,000 Google Maps clicks in one 24-hour
period. After they’ve reached this quota, businesses will be charged $4
per 1,000 clicks according to BBC News.

How do I create a Google Plus business profile page?

by Ask Dave Taylor

Yes, after months of promising that they’d do something cool, Google has finally released Google Plus business pages
and ya know what? They’re pretty darn cool, fit well into the entire
user interface and style of Google+ and still offer enough flexibility
that they’ll be a fun and interesting addition to the world of G+.

To create a page, you’ll need to be the authorized representative of
that particular brand or company. If it’s your biz, no worries, you’re
good to go. If you want to create a fan page for a celebrity, a positive
(or negative) page relating to a known brand or trademark or anything
of that nature, however, then you’re out of luck. You can create the
page (as you’ll see) but it’ll end up being deleted by Google once they
identify the page as being in violation. Save yourself the hassle and
only create Google Plus Business Pages for organizations, companies and brands you’re involved with.

Ready to proceed? Great!

The first stop is to log in to your G+ page. Once you’ve done that, go here:

Optimize and Socialize Your Way to Better Business Blogging

by

Blogs are often rated one of the top content marketing tactics for attracting and engaging customers, but most companies fail to combine two of the most important tools for boosting traffic and reach: optimization for search engines and for social media.

A Better Business Blog Strategy

To get more out of the opportunity to improve online discovery of business blog content, here are a few key questions to ask for an “optimize and socialize” blog strategy:

  • Who is the blog intended to influence? Prospects, customers, employees, industry analysts, reporters, bloggers?
  • What content will your blog offer that will meet target audience needs?
  • How will addressing those customer needs and telling the brand story manifest as a blog content plan?
  • What search keywords and social topics are relevant to your target audience?
  • Where does your blog content fit in the customer lifecycle of communication with the brand?
  • If the blog content is properly optimized and socialized, how will it influence (directly or indirectly) measurable business outcomes?
